What are the benefits of having a website?

Over 75% of the population in the UK alone now have Internet access, all of whom could be a potential customer to any business.  Therefore it makes sense to use a website as an important way of advertising, in fact, research has shown that more people are using the internet instead of the more traditional methods of telephone directories to search for goods and services, especially locally.  Also an increasing number of people are now regularly communicating by means of email or iphones.

How much does a website cost? This is a difficult question to answer because each website is different.  Once we have established exactly what type of website would best suit your needs we can give you a free, no-obligation quotation.  We know that funds are often limited as so aim to make all our websites competitively prices.

What is hosting?

In simple terms, once your website is complete, every web page, email and file must be stored on a web server which is a computer permanently connected to the Internet.  Obviously these services are not free and therefore most companies will charge a monthly or annual hosting fee. 

A word of warning:  You may have come across companies that offer free hosting but please be aware that they provide a very limited service or no  service at all.  Such companies fund this free hosting by advertising and usually offer no support if you encounter problems.

How long will it take to build my website?

This will depend on the size of the website which determines the amount of work involved.  If we have all the information we require from the client a small website can be built within 2-3 weeks and a larger website in around 6-8 weeks.  We would give you a better indication of the timescale once we have spoken to you.

How do I pay?

We require a 50% deposit at the time of ordering.  The balance is payable on satisfactory completion.

How can I increase traffic to my website?

There are a number of ways to promote your business and ensure your customers can find you on the Internet.  Search Engine Optimisation, Google Adwords, Directories, Links, Advertising and Email Marketing and more.  We offer a range of services and would be happy to give you a quotation for this service.

Do you charge for making changes to my website?

Minor changes to your website are usually included in our monthly or annual hosting fee however we may make a charge for any complex changes which are time consuming.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a unique address or "URL" that identifies each website on the Internet.  To obtain a domain name you pay an annual fee to register the right to use that name for your business.  For example if a company name is Impact Photography they would chose the domain name www.impactphotography.co.uk.  We can advise you on the process of obtaining a domain name.
